Meet our team

Hello. We are the Yokohama YMCA Sports College Basketball Club.

Our school is a sports vocational school located in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Our students love sports and are studying to become instructors, trainers, nursery teachers, kindergarten teachers, etc.

The basketball club, both boys and girls, practice hard every day with the goal of competing in the national tournament. Some members have experience playing basketball, while others have no experience, but they work hard together and have fun.

Project Objective

It was a strong school that had participated in national tournaments many times in the past, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, club activities were suspended for three years, only to resume in June 2023.

There was a three-year gap, and connections with seniors and traditions were cut off. In addition, there are many students who are motivated to study despite financial difficulties, and many who try not to burden their parents, so most of the members are attending school on scholarships.

With much of the equipment deteriorating, the cost of securing a place to practice is also being covered by the small club fees. We would like to ask for CHEER UP! to help ease the economic and mental burden on students and allow them to continue their studies and club activities with a little more peace of mind.

Through CHEER UP!, we hope to deepen our connections with our seniors and those who support us. All of our club members will continue to work hard, making the most of our one-on-one time. We look forward to receiving your CHEER UP!^^
