Meet our team
Hello everyone! This is the Aoyama Gakuin University Athletic Association Softball Team.
Project Objective
When you hear "college baseball club," many people probably imagine that the school provides the players with generous support, such as providing equipment and covering travel and training camp costs.
However, in reality, it is often the case that individuals must shoulder the financial burden themselves.
First, when joining the club, players are required to purchase at their own expense items that are standard for the club, such as team bags, hats for official matches, and uniforms.
They are by no means cheap, costing around 50,000 to 60,000 yen in total.
We also hold training camps twice a year, in spring and summer, but these are also paid for by each club member.
The training camp lasts for three nights and four days every year, and costs about 40,000 yen per person, including drinks, accommodation, transportation, and grounds usage fees.
Of course, we receive a club fee from the university, but most of that goes to fees paid to the federation we belong to and to maintaining the luggage van, so we can't even afford to buy equipment like bats and balls.
Specifically, just belonging to the federation will cost you more than 200,000 yen, including 75,000 yen in federation registration fees, approximately 60,000 yen in player registration fees, and 75,000 yen in insurance fees.
Also, at the national tournament that we participated in last year, the participation fee was 60,000 yen, and individual transportation costs were about 30,000 yen, and another 30,000 yen was spent on accommodation and chartered buses on site, so the total expenses per person was about 60,000 yen.
If you win, you will have to pay for accommodation, which can be quite difficult if you have to pay for it yourself.
In this situation, we cannot afford to buy new balls and continue to use old balls as is.
A major reason why we currently have insufficient club funds is that we competed in two national tournaments last year.
It would have been too great a burden to pay for everything myself, so some expenses were covered by club funds.
However, this would result in an unfortunate situation where, if the club participates in the national tournament, they would not have enough funds to purchase baseball equipment.
Since support from the university is limited, we have decided to solicit donations in this way.
Everyone, please help us out! Thank you!
We look forward to your CHEER UP!
