Meet our team

At the 99th Hakone Ekiden qualifying tournament in 2022, the team placed 27th overall, and in individual results, international student Mandela placed 3rd and Inaba placed 107th, and they were selected to represent the Kanto Student Union in the main event.

The team slogan for 2023 is "Unyielding," and this year, too, the team is working hard every day on athletics, aiming to compete in the Hakone Ekiden. Because they have yet to compete in the race in the 10 years since the team was founded, they are training with a fresh feeling as challengers, and are never forgetting to be grateful to the people who support them.

Project Objective

The reason why I wanted to participate in this project is that it will allow us to redirect the expenses that would otherwise be spent on consumables for the athletes who work hard every day to compete in the Hakone Ekiden to entry fees for competitions. By providing an opportunity for athletes to participate in as many competitions as possible, it will help them have a goal and boost their confidence.

The donated items will be used to provide hydration to the athletes who practice every day. The J. F. Oberlin University Ekiden Club prepares bottles of water and OS-1, and athletes hydrate according to their physical condition. Hydration is especially essential in the summer, when athletes practice in high-temperature environments. The OS-1 that you have donated as support can be given directly to the athletes!
