Meet our team
This is the Yokohama City University semi-hardball baseball team.
The Yokohama City University Semi-Hardball Baseball Club belongs to the Kanagawa University Semi-Hardball Baseball League, which has seven member universities, and currently has a total of 30 members, including 22 players and 8 managers. Most of the practice sessions are held between classes, so the only time the team can practice together is on Fridays after classes, which is a limited time.
Also, because we are a public university, we do not have the facilities and there is no system for sports recommendations, but we have been able to win against strong private universities in league matches last fall and this fall, and little by little we are becoming able to play the baseball we aim to play. Without using the environment as an excuse, we are practicing hard every day, going beyond the boundaries of grades, to achieve our goal of "9 wins in the league, and then finishing in second place or higher and advancing to higher tournaments."
Project Objective
The main reason we decided to participate in this project is a lack of funds. Most of our club's operating expenses are covered by club fees, but most of our members are from outside the prefecture and live alone. They have to do housework and work part-time jobs in between their university classes and practice.
However, from next year, low-rebound bats will be introduced, and it will be necessary to purchase new bats, which is expected to increase the financial burden on club members, and they are currently unable to purchase balls, etc. Balls are a personal item, and while they are consumables, they are essential for daily practice, so by having them replaced, the quality and efficiency of practice will improve.
Through this project, we hope to connect current members with alumni and those who support us every day. We will never forget our gratitude when we meet up with you, and we will use your time to improve our practice, so we appreciate your support. Please lend us your support in our activities.
We look forward to your CHEER UP!
