Meet our team
The Yamagata University School of Medicine Semi-Hardball Baseball Club consists of 25 players and 16 managers, a total of 41 members, who practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Last year, they were the runners-up in the spring league and participated in the Kiyose Cup, experiencing the national stage. However, they lost at the Eastern Medical Sports Festival, and are using that disappointment as motivation to work hard with their new team, aiming to win.
Project Objective
We are currently practicing hard every day in preparation for the Eastern Medical Athletic Meet, which will be held from August 3rd, but we are having trouble with a shortage of practice balls. The money we receive from the club and alumni is used for league membership fees, travel expenses, and to purchase new bats and batting nets, so we cannot afford to buy balls. During practice and seat knocks before games, there is a limit to the number of balls that can be hit in one inning due to a shortage of balls, so we have to ask the managers to run around every time to get by.
In addition, in order to overcome these issues, we started using a machine batting practice, but the number of players with sharp swings has increased, and the ball is cut off, and the ball is lost because the right side of the ground is narrow. However, since the current team does not have many pitchers, it is difficult to practice hitting live balls without using a machine.
We need the ball to improve our skills until the very end in order to win the Eastern Medical Athletic Meet. We will repay the support we received this time with results in the Eastern Medical Athletic Meet and the subsequent Autumn and Spring Leagues.
With gratitude in my heart to everyone who supports me on a daily basis, I will continue to hone my practice even further, so I hope you will join me in the fun.
