Meet our team
The Kansai University American Football Club has a 90-year tradition and is the largest of the university's athletic clubs in terms of both players and staff, as well as being one of the most active.
The team is a member of the Kansai Student American Football Federation and, as a Div.1 ( first division league) team, is working towards becoming the best student team in Japan.
Founded in 1934 , the team has won the Kansai Student League Division 1 four times and the Koshien Bowl twice . The team name comes from the phrase "Kaiser Kansai University," which means "emperor," and is found in the lyrics of the university's cheer song.
【the goal】
The team is practicing hard every day with the goal of becoming the best student team in Japan (winning the national championship) in American football.
To achieve this goal, our slogan this year is " CLIMB ."
This slogan has the following meaning:
The Kansai University American Football Club, KAISERS , aims to reach the summit of the high mountain (goal) of national domination. To achieve this, the following three elements are essential:
① Thorough preparation
When attempting to climb a high mountain (goal), planned and thorough preparation is necessary. To do this, it is essential to strengthen the foundations, such as improving physical strength and technique. Cooperation among the entire team is also important. Strengthen relationships of trust and move forward toward the goal with smooth communication.
② Pack your luggage to a minimum
Since excess equipment and unnecessary baggage affect movement and physical exhaustion during mountain climbing, we will eliminate wasteful habits and bad culture and create a new, good culture that involves minimal baggage to create a winning team.
③ Always positive
Another important factor is to always maintain a positive attitude, even when faced with difficult situations.
This year, the KAISERS will aim to win the championship as Japan's best team by maintaining the attitude of enjoying football to the fullest that has been passed down from generation to generation, while also not forgetting to be grateful for the ordinary things in our daily lives. By being more conscious of these elements than last year, the team will work towards this goal.
In this way, rather than simply setting the goal of being "the best students in Japan (to conquer the nation)," we work with a slogan full of deep meaning in mind.

Project Objective
The Kansai University American Football Club strives to become the best team and players in Japan by training their minds, bodies, and skills every day. We aim to develop people who have the strength to show the meaning of their existence to society. We place the highest priority on making the right choices and making the right efforts over time in sports and in real life, and on thinking and acting for oneself (thinking and acting). We will work to develop human resources who can thrive in the real world.
Also, compared to other universities that are considered to be strong, the team is characterized by having many players with no experience in American football. However, even inexperienced members often become ace players or are selected as starting members, fully demonstrating the appeal of American football as a college sport.
Unlike other sports, American football requires contact due to the nature of the sport. Players from other universities that are considered to be strong teams are bigger and stronger than Kansai University players. To compete with them, you need skill, but you also need an equal or superior physique.
In addition, players need to have "big, mobile bodies." In order to become number one in Japan, increasing size is one of the surest ways to compete with strong schools. In order to achieve this, I decided to participate because I wanted to focus on strengthening the players' physical condition in preparation for the fall league.
In addition, we received feedback from the players such as, "I want an environment where I can drink protein whenever I want," and "I'm having trouble because I don't have the money to buy it myself," and since we are an organization in which many players work part-time jobs to pay club fees, we wanted the club to provide protein.
However, we have limited funds available to us as a club and cannot afford to purchase protein. Therefore, we would like to work on this as a way to convert the feelings of those who support the Kansai University Athletic Association American Football Club KAISERS into power for the players.
We look forward to your CHEER UP!
