Meet our team
The Ibaraki University Wind Orchestra, commonly known as Ibasui, is the largest club at the university, with over 130 members. Our history is one of the oldest among the many university wind orchestras, and we have been active for over 60 years. We are a diverse group of people from different places and faculties, with some having experience and others who started playing instruments after entering university, but we all have fun and get along well.
Our main activities include Ibaraki's two major concerts, the "Regular Concert" and the "Winter Concert," as well as various commissioned performances, planning and participating in school festivals at each campus, and participating in competitions and ensemble contests sponsored by the Wind Orchestra Federation. In 2022, we were able to win the gold prize at the Ibaraki Prefecture Wind Orchestra Competition and the silver prize at the East Kanto Wind Orchestra Competition.
We usually practice two days a week, mainly on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, in the club buildings, Ibaraen Hall, and auditorium on the Mito campus. Securing practice space is difficult, but with the help of many people, we practice hard every day.
Project Objective
Hello! We are the percussion section of the Ibaraki University Wind Orchestra. We are a large group of 20 people, from first to third year students. Last year we held a percussion concert, went on a group trip, and have been having fun both inside and outside the club.
The drum stool for the percussion section broke the other day, and the height can no longer be adjusted. We are currently performing at a fixed height, but it would be nice to have a new one. Please support the Ibaraki University Wind Orchestra Percussion Section!
In the Ibaraki University Wind Orchestra, many members write the conductor's instructions on the music score when playing together. If there was a common music score file, I thought it would be nice to have a sense of unity as a group, so I set it as a single item. Please support the Ibaraki University Wind Orchestra!
