Our club belongs to the Kanagawa League (6 universities in total). We have 77 members, and activities are limited to one hour during lunch breaks on weekdays and three hours on Saturdays.
Our daily activities are focused on the goal of winning the league and participating in the All Japan Championships, and we are conscious of practicing efficiently even in a limited environment. We also value the independence of our players and aim to develop their individual abilities and become a strong team by incorporating a lot of time for independent practice.
Another characteristic of Kobe University's semi-hardball team is that many of its members are dedicated to their student life outside of baseball, not just club activities, but also balancing their studies and part-time jobs.
This year's team slogan is "Have fun and win." The members get along well regardless of their grade level, and one of the team's charms is that they fight together as a team, with good energy and fun. This year, we took advantage of our team strength to win the league championship for the fifth consecutive term, and won a place in the Kiyose Cup!
Project Objective
There are two main reasons why I participated in this project.
The first problem is a lack of funds. Most of our club members work part-time jobs between their studies and club activities. Although they work fewer hours than other students, most of our members earn their own club fees and practice equipment costs. As a team, we would like to reduce the frequency and amount of club fees collected, so that members do not quit baseball due to the financial burden. However, with the recent rise in prices, it is more difficult than ever to purchase new equipment. In particular, balls are one of the tools that deteriorates quickly because their surface is made of rubber. As a team, we thought that by securing balls, we could alleviate the lack of funds for our members and reduce the burden on students.
The second reason is to let more people know about the existence and activities of Kanagawa University Semi-Hardball Baseball Club. Our Kanagawa University Semi-Hardball Baseball Club is made up of players who want to play while having fun, and we work hard at practice and matches every day. This has paid off, and since last year we have achieved many accomplishments, such as winning the league championship, participating in the All-Japan Championship, and winning the Kanto Regional Championship.
In addition to playing, we have also held baseball classes for elementary school students and conducted crowdfunding. We would like to spread the appeal of the Kobe University semi-hardball team, which is to "have fun while aiming to improve" and "have a wide range of activities."
By purchasing balls as a single player, you will increase the motivation of the players and improve the quality of their practice. As a result, it will definitely lead to good results such as continuing to win league matches and participating in next year's All Japan Championship. We will do our best as a team to meet the expectations of everyone who has cooperated with us!
We look forward to your CHEER UP!
